The aim of this international journal is to provide an outlet for the increasing flow of scholarly research concerning financial institutions and the money and capital markets within which they function. It includes studies which investigate the interaction of individuals and non-financial enterprises with financial intermediaries and markets. The emphasis is primarily on applied and policy oriented research. The Journal thus intends to improve communications between, and within, the academic and other research communities and those members of financial institutions, both private and public, national and international, who are responsible for operational and policy decisions. The Journal encourages contributions in quantitative methods and the application of management science techniques to financial problems; analysis of monetary and fiscal theoretic applications to domestic and international situations; and the application of recent advances in financial theory to practical problems such as bank asset management. Since 1989 the Studies in Banking & Finance have been incorporated with the Journal.
